lxr.CCN - Multi-application software connector for CCN/CSI

Need to connect CCN/CSI? Then lxr.CCN is what you need.

lxr.CCN is a simple and robust software connector for CCN/CSI to be used as a reliable "gateway" solution for eCustoms applications. lxr.CCN offers a standard and loosely-coupled Web Service interface and hides the proprietary aspect of the CSI interface to developers (no knowledge of CSI required anymore!). lxr.CCN is “multi-application”, i.e. it can be shared by multiple national applications (e.g. NCTS, VAT refund, M1SS, EMCS, SEED, ECS, ICS, etc.) connecting the CCN network (both CCN/CSI and CCN Intranet channels are supported).

Last stable releases of lxr.CCN are v.2.3.3 and v.2.4.4 (see all releases history).

Problem Statement

National Customs & Tax authorities (both inside and outside the EU) in charge of offering electronic services to their Economic Operators have to deal with an increasing number of national applications making use of the CCN/CSI infrastructure (owned and operated by the DG TAXUD) to interact with other national authorities, and also with Central Services of the European Commission.

Today, there is no “standard” interface to connect the CCN/CSI infrastructure. The tight coupling with the proprietary CSI API either through the CCN Gateway results in “siloed” systems with strong technical dependencies with CCN. This situation makes the architecture of national Customs & Tax applications rigid, resulting in increasing costs and complexity for their development and maintenance.

The solution: lxr.CCN

To address this issue Vivansa has developed a reliable gateway solution, called lxr.CCN, resulting from our cutting-edge expertise of CCN/CSI and our sound understanding of national Customs & Tax authorities’ business requirements.

lxr.CCN is a simple and robust software connector for CCN/CSI which hides the proprietary aspect of the CSI interface to developers by providing a standard and loosely-coupled Web Service interface.

lxr.CCN is multi-application, i.e. it can be shared by multiple national applications connecting the CCN network, hence allowing to reduce the “siloed” system problematic on the national domain side.

lxr.CCN offers clustering and failover mechanisms to increase the overall resilience of the system (e.g. national applications are not affected by potential unavailability of the local CCN Gateway) is therefore a key component able to participate to a wider Business Continuity Plan (BCP).

lxr.CCN is operable as a standalone component easily deployable into the national environment and delivers a reliable messaging solution as part of a wider JEE and/or Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
